Shawn T. Walsh, President

Shawn has over 20 years of experience in working with middle-market companies.  During his career, Mr. Walsh has completed over $1 billion in middle-market financial services transactions; including merchant banking services, mergers and acquisitions, private placement transactions, initial public offerings and high yield debt placements.  Mr. Walsh founded Imperial Private Equity to execute strategic growth initiatives by improving internal support processes and systems, identifying strategic organic growth opportunities, and acquiring synergistic complementary businesses. Imperial’s primary objective is to enhance shareholder value by optimizing operational and financial performance through the development and implementation of key performance indicators, robust dashboards and annual strategic operating plans. 

Prior to co-founding Imperial, Mr. Walsh was a Vice President at Growth Capital Partners where he was responsible for the origination, coordination and execution of company sales, mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations and private placements.  His most recent transaction experience includes over $340 million of private capital placements and equity co-investments in the healthcare, energy, aviation, manufacturing and business services industries.

Prior to joining Growth Capital Partners, Mr. Walsh was an associate at King Capital Partners, a Dallas based family investment office where he executed divestitures and capital raises. Key responsibilities included monitoring performance of portfolio companies by developing annual operating and long-term strategic plans, preparing monthly business review updates (including dashboards of key business indicators), and providing key financial and operational performance reporting and analysis. Mr. Walsh first began his career at Fieldstone Private Capital Group, a New York based investment banking firm where he executed mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations and corporate divestitures.

Mr. Walsh holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration with honors from The Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University with a concentration in Finance and Financial Investing.   He is active in a number of charitable organizations; including serving on the 1883 Council at the University of Texas, Chairman of the Dallas chapter of Young Texans Against Cancer, co-founder of Leadership in Action Dallas and having served on the Executive Committee of the Greer Garson Gala.  Mr. Walsh and his wife Aylin reside in Austin with their three children.
